COEF
Coef — food-cost SaaS for restaurant owners
The startup I co-founded: one photo of a supplier invoice, and the owner knows their food cost the same day — not at the end of the month.

MISSION LOG · OPERATOR NOTE
« The project where I learned that coding is half the job. The other half: deciding what not to build, and letting a restaurant owner reshape my inventory screen. »
DETAILED BRIEFING
Coef is my product, from the first line of code to the production server. My partner, a restaurant owner, handles the field and sales; I handle all of the product and all of the tech: design, interface, AI, integrations, hosting, security, support. The AI has a precise job, and no more: Claude reads the invoice (photo or PDF) and produces advice, the owner validates, costs recompute. Around it, everything that makes a real product hold: live Zelty POS integration, Factur-X e-invoices, a PWA with push notifications, 382 tests that block deployment on the slightest failure. Pricing, priorities and positioning are decided together — him on the market side, me on the product side.
